Climate change, with all its global consequences, necessitates a move away from our dependence upon fossil fuels. With this and the commitment to the Paris Agreement in mind, road freight transport faces the major challenge of significantly reducing CO2 emissions and implementing the changeover to the use of sustainable energy sources. The eHighway technology provides an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for road freight traffic.

Together with Siemens Mobility, SPL Powerlines Germany- a company of Powerlines Group- was contracted with the installation of the overhead line system on two eHighway field test stretches in Germany, one in Schleswig-Holstein and the other in Baden-Württemberg. The overhead line system for eHighways is comparable to overhead line systems used on railways.
